Your repositories¶
Everything you create in Colleag lives as plain files in Git repositories that your organisation owns. There are up to three of them, and knowing what each one holds matters for two reasons: you can clone or export your data at any time, and you must not delete them — live data points there.
The three repositories¶
| Repository | What it holds | How it changes |
|---|---|---|
Your product repository (the name you chose in Settings, e.g. contoso) |
Product documents, drawing references and releases, one folder per article | Through publishes from the document workspace |
…-qms |
Your processes with their full revision history | Through the process workflow: draft, review, approve, release |
…-comp |
The deals register (Deals), your dashboards and company-wide documents | Committed automatically on every save |
Newer organisations get all three named after the product repository, for
example contoso, contoso-qms and contoso-comp. Organisations set up
earlier may have a company repository named colleag-comp — same contents,
older naming.
Do not delete or rename them¶
A repository that looks unfamiliar in your Git organisation is easy to mistake for clutter. Deleting one orphans live data: dashboards and the deals register disappear from Colleag, and new saves start failing with repository not found. If that has happened, recreate the repository with exactly the same name (initialise it with a README) and make sure the Colleag app's Repository access includes it — then save again from Colleag and the content is re-pushed.
If you want a repository renamed, contact Colleag support first so the platform is repointed before anything is saved.
Where to find your clone URLs¶
Settings → Your Data in Colleag lists the clone URL of every repository. You can clone, mirror or export them whenever you like — the files are plain Markdown and YAML, readable without Colleag.
